1995 Omega Seamaster Professional 2541.80 Bezel Insert Question...

I recently picked up a 1995 Omega Seamaster Professional 2541.80.00 Serial Number 55293375.

My question is regarding the bezel insert, is it authentic or after market? The lume pip has the same patina as the dial however, I cannot imagine this is the original, perhaps a service replacement? These seem to fade a lot, so I highly doubt one would turn up in this condition.

The handset was replaced at a service at some stage as they have no patina.

I think your hands are original. The lume appears to have a green tint and the grain is quite coarse - this is common in vintage watches of this era, and the hands never get the creamy patina that the dial markers do on these.

As for the bezel insert, I think it's fine. I serviced a bunch of 25318000's last year from one collector (along with a couple of Speedmasters) and the top left on in this photo has a lume pip like yours, and virtually no fade on the bezel insert:

In contrast, the top right one was significantly faded, so I think it really depends on how much time the watch has spent in the elements.

Cheers, Al

Hi and thank you both for the very informative replies. I thought I had a bit of a serviced frankenstein on my hands, but I was still pretty happy. Now I am very excited to own this lovely piece.
