·Offering for sale a lovely Omega Speedmaster Professional, dating to c.1990.
These 80’s/early 90’s Speedmasters often age wonderfully with attractive yellow lume and still retain the same bezel used in the 70’s.
This one is a very attractive example, lovely yellow lume contrasting against a deep black dial and bezel.
All functions work well except from the fact that the chronograph hands don’t rest to zero so a service is recommended.
Details:
Price:
£3450 GBP net to me.
Worldwide shipping included using Royal Mail and Secursus.
No returns.
Dial:
Beautiful C4 ‘long R’, Tall & closed S’ dial. Only seen on references made between 88-91.
In excellent condition, no damage and beautifully agree tritium lume plot.
Correct and matching hands which mate starting to show some darkening.
Case:
Original stainless steel case ref 145022, PIC ref 3590.50.
In very good condition, some surface wear but retains polished and brushed finishes. No corrosion or damage.
Bezel:
B2 Dot close 70, narrow C. Correct for references from 1970-90.
In good condition. No chips, very slight ding at 90.
I prefer the tall/narrow bezels on the 80’s/early 90’s models before they changed to the more modern font around 1991.
Movement
Yellow plated cal 861, with 48m serial dating to July 1990 as per the excellent ilovemyspeedmaster website. In good condition with no damage or corrosion.
Runs, winds, keeps time and all functions operate but chrono hands don’t reset to zero. As such a service is recommended.
Bracelet:
Original 1479 bracelet in good condition with 812 Endlinks. No undue stretch and suitable for wrist sizes up 7.5” (perhaps slightly larger as mines more like 7.75”).
