My father had an Omega Seamaster Stainless Steel Men's Watch with 3 hands and date. Since he passed away recently, I have no way to ask him the original price. The watch is quite ugly, may be due to poor seal and water vapor got inside. DSC_0053.JPG Do you know? (Not sure if I have already posted this question somewhere, but I cannot find it.)

Frank, very sorry for your loss. I suspect you know that the combination of a quartz movement with a dial that probably counts as damaged rather than patina isn't going to be worth a whole heap of money. You mention the possibility of water damage - does it run? If so, you might get £80-£100 for it on a really good day with a following wind, probably next to nothing if it doesn't, as at that point its basically a parts watch with lots of damaged parts.

Either way, probably best to list on ebay with no start price and let it find its own level, but don't hold your breath...

    Hi Mothra,

    Thanks.
I don't mean to sell it. I just want to know the approximate original price in 1980's, when my father bought it. I just want to know a little bit of his history.

Ah, sorry - misread what you needed. Some of the members have original priceless, hopefully they can help...

I found a receipt of $330 in 1985 from the watch store, which sells high-end Swiss watches. But I am not sure if he bought it new. I didn't see him wore it much. Instead, he liked to wear his 1960's Eterna automatic.

Frank, I've had a quick look in the omega bible and it looks like its a cal 1432 'replica' (name, not description) from 1982. Reference is 196.0269, which should help you find plenty of pics on Google. It was launched in 1982 so buying new in 1985 seems likely. An example of a link to one that probably looks like you remember your dads is here:

Wow, that is the exact same model. Thanks.
What do the numbers "196.0269" and "396.0960" mean? This eBay auction always mentioned these numbers on the back of the case.

196.0269 is the code (or case reference) for this case on a strap, I think the 396.0960 is same case on a bracelet.
