1980's custom solid gold rectangular dial quartzwatch - can anybody tell me about this? have never seen this dial

got this watch as a high school graduation present in 1985. My two brothers got similar watches but I have seen theirs on resale and auction sites. I am fairly certain this case is custom and dial is not like any omega dial i have seen....movement is omega as told to me by an NYC service place that does my other watches but he would not service as movement could be fixed - odd construction as face and movement are embedded in case back. Any insight would be great.
