Offering a genuine "Baby PloProf" in good all-round condition with an Extract showing delivery to New Zealand in May 1979.
The watch retains its original black dial which has developed even patination, the lettering is complete and crisp and the tritium plots are intact and in good condition. The bakelite bezel is in very good condition with no cracks or discolouration and rotates easily. The stainless case shows clear signs of use. The full length Omega mesh bracelet (1247/237) is in excellent condition.
The calibre 1010 automatic movement was fully serviced in October 2021 and keeps time as it should. The hand adjustment and quick set date function operate perfectly. Genuine Omega parts were used in the service to replace the sapphire glass, screw down signed crown and 'airplane buckle' clasp.
The watch has not been a safe queen - as noted the case clearly shows marks from use with a number of superficial scratches and small nicks in the case surface. The bevels remain clearly defined and the marks could certainly be polished out if desired, but to me the watch presents far better in its genuine as-used state. The original handset had faded so I asked Adam Lewis to fit a pair of service hands lumed and coloured as-new (the bright orange outline on the minute hand makes the PloProf for me..). The original hands are of course included.
Asking USD 4,950 (or equivalent in any major currency if that suits you better) - I use Wise for all international transactions. This is priced at the bottom-end of the small number of examples I can find on C24, eBay, etc reflecting the less-than-pristine case, but balanced by its overall good, original condition, extract confirming authenticity and the recent full service. Pricing also includes worldwide Fedex or DHL shipping (name your preference) from New Zealand to your door.
