Your looking for a 145.022-74 as they where made from 1974-1975. They have a somewhat unique dial shared with most 145.022-76 models.

Try these 2 resources. Speedmaster101.com and ilovemyspeedmaster.com . The former will show you the correct dial hint it’s the relation of the “S”in speedmaster to the “p”. It’s the first domed dial variant with the font of the preceding step dials. The later site will help you narrow down production date if you have the serial number.

The other thing is called a DNN or Dot Next to Ninety bezel. This is described at speedmaster101.com.

It will match my 145.022-76 actually, as mine is identical to a -74.

The difficult part will be to find the one from 1975.
There is no -75 reference so you will either have to find a full set with papers dated back to 1975 or a -74 watch with an extract from the Archives confirming its production date in 1975.

Another option would be to find a nice Apollo-Soyuz Speedmaster - one of 500 made back in 1975 ::psy::

Unless you want to overpay/get a crappy watch, then it will likely involve a good amount of research on your part. Plan on investing some time.

Love a good 70’s 145.022. My advice is be patient, buy and read Moonwatch Only, and wait until you find the right one.

You are probably looking for a 145.022-74 with a movement serial roughly between 34.xxx.xxx and 37.3xx.xxx, but only an extract of the archives from omega will confirm it.

    My -74:

Similar to the other comments, I ended up researching via speedmaster101.com pretty extensively and picked up my 74 on ebay for a little under $3k with the original bracelet last year. That said, ebay's always a dice roll so definitely buyer beware.

My search was less challenging, but I was looking for a speedy produced in 1989 for my 30th, and not only I found it, but the extract confirmed that it was put together in January, the month I was born. That is an awesome feeling! The moment I received the extract I was shivering. All the parts are correct except the bezel, which I will need to replace at some point. Good luck, I am sure that the watch you are looking for is waiting for you out there! Don't give up!

OF seller @ndgal had a 1975 watch a while ago. Stupidity on my part and missed pulling the plug. Did not realize at that time how difficult these are to find. Still searching
