The Unicorn of Soyuz Speedy's, and the planned center piece of my Speedmaster collection. I'm a serious buyer ready to pull the trigger on a moments notice if the opportunity arises. I'm looking for an all original piece with 1168 bracelet. Box and papers nice, but not a deal breaker by any means.

    You never know, right?

Ask for a dinner date with Natalie Portman too, you're more likely to get it :)

I attended the December, 2015 Christie's Speedmaster auction and a Apollo Soyuz 1975 sold for $37,500 plus commission. The sale also included a flown in space American flag.

It hammered at $30,000, the $37500 includes the buyers premium. That was a strong price, but given everything else with that auction, wasn't terribly out of line. Needless to say, I would MUCH PREFER to buy one outside an auction house. :D

I think you are correct. How much is a flown flag valued at?

The flag and signed certificate added value to the lot sold at Christie's but not much. Similar ASTP flag presentations with the astronaut signed certificate have sold for $500-$850.

EDIT - Possible the certificate in the Christie's auction would command a bit more of a premium because it was presented to Evans but probably not much more.

Monthly Bump. I was actually offered one recently, but it was in very rough shape and the seller was mental on price.

I don't recall precisely where I read this (might have been MWO), that an audit of the available records shows that only around 400 were actually delivered. Certainly enough that we should see these pop up for sale much more frequently than they do. These Italy only editions seem to be the ones that come up less frequently on the open market.

That is correct John. The Authors of MWO could only find receipts for 400. They also say that 500 is the generally acceptable number. De Marchi, the Italian importer, may have received part of the production in kit form. The movement numbers for these are earlier than the usual range of 39,18x,xxx and 39,181,xxx. Mine is No.76 and the movement number is within the range stated.
What is a mental price? PM me if you want.

    John,
You and I need to spend some time in Italy watch hunting. They must be there somewhere.

600 or so, if you count all the bogus eBay listings and frankens.
