Hi all. First sales post here so please be gentle! This is an unexpected sale of a watch I've had almost three years now. In short, two weeks ago I came across a watch for sale here on OF which I've been lusting after for many years, however funding this meant a major reorganisation of my collection. So this 1973 176.007 is the third (of three watches) I have to sell in order to pay for the incoming one. I should add that I am a collector rather than a dealer; this is the first watch I've sold here on OF, though I have bought three watches here from longstanding members here and they will vouch for me and share their positive experience if you ask. I am reasonably well known in the Time 4 a Pint community in London and have a professional reputation which I would like to protect :)

On to the watch. This is an Omega Seamaster 176.007, dating from around 1973. Overall condition I would grade as excellent, with no major flaws on a very honest and original watch. IMO this narrow period between 1970 and 1973 was one of Omega's golden periods and the Cal 1040 was the peak of this period.

Movement: Fully serviced cal 1040 in November 2016 by Jonathan at The Antique Watch Company on Clerkenwell Road in London. Runs very well without any faults and keeps good time. Power reserve is strong. It has been worn perhaps only a dozen times since the service as the watch has not been in my regular rotation.

Dial: Original and excellent condition sunburst blue dial, colour still very strong, no signs of any degradation. Lume plots all original, present and good creamy colour. 6 o'clock subdial is clean, 9 0'clock subdial equally so, with none of the usual tell-tale fading of the orange 24h marker. No damage to the hands or bezel, though it is possible these are replacement parts as they are unusually good.

Case: Thick with decent sharp lug edges, original factory brushing still strong and clearly present. Very minor surface scratches consistent with use can be seen in the pictures.

Caseback, crown, pushers, Crystal: Original, hippocampus still visible on caseback. Crystal contains etched Omega logo. Crown and pushers are, to my knowledge, original to the watch.

Bracelet/Strap: This comes with a Hirsch blue leather racing strap and also a NOS 1162/172 bracelet. The bracelet is not original to the watch but is period correct and looks very good. No end-links with this one, sorry, however the bracelet is still in outstanding condition and comes with spare links so should be able to be sized for any wrist.

Price: I'm asking £2350 or close offer as I am motivated to sell and so have priced this accordingly. I would prefer a face to face transaction so that you are happy with your purchase but will ship internationally, insured, at your cost. Payment in cash, bitcoin, bank transfer or similar. Escrow is also possible I believe.

The pictures form part of the description. No returns unless the watch is materially not as described, so let me know if you need photos of anything that is not shown. And as always, please PM me with any corrections or mistakes if the description can be improved. Thanks!
