·‘Tis the season… to TREAT YO’SELF!!!
Hard to treat yourself better than with an incredible vintage Patek! Just in time for the holidays, wear it to Christmas dinner, wear it on the first night of Hanukkah. All that good stuff about how you never really own a Patek, you simply hold it for the next generation? Well now you CAN own one!
REFERENCE: 3846
YEAR: Approximately 1977
DIAL: STUNNING sunburst gold sigma dial that’s incredibly clean! Goes from light yellow gold to bronze to rose gold, depending on how the light hits it - a work of art! Light patina around a few of the markers, and the bottom edge of the dial near six, but all in one of the cleanest I’ve seen from this era.
CASE: Beautiful, and I believe unpolished solid 18k case. From the Ellipse line, this measures 27MM wide by 37mm lug to lug, with that rounded tank shape it wears incredibly well, pictured on my 6.5 inch wrist I’d say it feels comparable to a 34 or 35mm round watch - just perfect for a dress watch with some a bit o’ funky flare! As you can see, the brushing on the sides of the case, looks all original and untouched, the case back is preserved with a sticker, and you can see the amazing patina forming on the gold, showing this thing has really not been touched! That of course could be wiped off very easily with a light polish, but I think it’s stunning, and will be leaving it untouched (hopefully the next owner will as well!) There are a few scratches and a ding on the front of the case that you can see below the six position, all to be expected for how soft solid 18k is.
CRYSTAL: I believe this is the original crystal, light scratches can be seen at certain angles, but overall in excellent shape.
MOVEMENT: LOOK AT THAT! Speaking of work of art, the hand wound cal 215 by Patek is just incredible! Finished impeccably well - yes, if you zoom in you can see the Geneve Seal! Just an awesome piece of watchmaking history, went Patek was one of the few to have the Geneve Seal before they switched over to their own. Service history is unknown, but it winds and sets beautifully, as you’d expect for a high end movement like this. Of course being a two hander it’s hard to say exactly how accurate is but in my experience within about 20 seconds a day or less.
STRAP: Comes on a beautiful near new 18mm navy blue gator style leather strap that I think pairs with the rosy tones of the vintage gold case and dial perfectly!
ACCESSORIES: Watch only.
PRICE: Pricing this at $4750 which will include fully insured two day shipping via FedEx anywhere in the US. From the research I’ve done and recent comps, I believe this is the lowest priced Patek in a while, and so much amazing high end watch for well under 5K!
PAYMENT: Via Bank Wire, Venmo, Zelle, or Wise
Sale only, no trades thanks
RETURNS: No returns unless misrepresented, and it absolutely will not be. I am a passionate watch collector and I treat buyers the way I wanna be treated when I’m the buyer. Lots of feedback here show that!
Thank you for checking out this dream dress watch and as always, thanks to OF for the space!
