    Hi guys

i have a 1970's heuer 1553N and i just got it serviced. the chronograph seconds hand wouldint always reset back to 12 but now it doesnt work at all, if i flick my wrist of spin the watch the chronograph seconds hand moves freely... like a compass theres no resistance but its still on its stem so it spins in a circle. can anyone help? i really dont want to spend it away again for 3 months and it come back broken.. :(

    thanks

Well the bad news is, you'll have to send it out again for service. The good news is, it could be a simple fix that a local watchmaker can take care of. I had an old TAG F1 that had its seconds hand do that, it turned out a gear was misaligned, which was fairly simple to take care of.

i think i found the problem. good news is that its probably not a gear, the second hand fell out into the dial. so it wasnt secured in the tube correctly. hoping thats the just of the problem.. out it goes!
