Also found this in same shop at the gold dialled model mentioned in other post.

Had the back off. 29mll serial number. 70 stamped on hippo case back.
Looked original. Gasket all old and worn.

Thoughts on this? It looks all ok to me. Head only. Value of this one? I put a deposit down and am going back later in the week. [IMG]

Dial bezel and hands are all age correct with consistent wear suggesting they are original. At the right price it's a nice daily wearer in my opinion. Are you UK?

Thanks. Key question is "right price!". Def would be daily wearer...

Nope - I am in New York at present. Back to England on regular basis however.

It's genuine - it's the "69 Model" at the following link:

    http://www.speedmaster101.com/145-022-69/

You should check but it should have the large seamonster case back. Bezel is beat up, but the original dot-over-90 variant.

Dial is not unattractive and the matching lume on the hands indicates they are most likely original, as David says.

Price chart on that same website indicates it's worth approximately $2500 in running condition (no box, no papers, no bracelet, assumed unserviced).

    70 stamped on the back?
    love to see that....

29 mil serials often have very nice dials in hand.

The way to use my chart is this:

Watch is running, not poor, so 2500 base price.
Then deduct as you see fit for the poor bezel, or in other cases increase if the bezel or dial is special. I would say from what I see this is an interesting watch.

OK sounds encouraging then. Thank you. IIRC, there is a 70 stamped near edge of caseback. I had not seen this before or mentioned on any website hence my question. Will grab more pics when watch is in hand, or on wrist. It certainly looked like the back had not been off in years....

Will you keep you all posted. Thanks for the feedback.

No comments on the other watch there in my other post?

He had a few 1950s and 1960s Omegaa tucked away. A bit of a find I think...

Ah sorry, I missed your comment about the '70' as well.

It certainly looks like a '69 model, probably sold in 1970 so the 70 stamp will be some kind of personalised engraving. It's up to you whether or not that reduces the value at all.

Should be a 69 stamp if 29mil. Other than that nice watch.

When everybody say 69, it means it should be 145.022-69 stamped inside case back like in speedmaster 101
    [IMG]

If the 70 number is outside this, then I tend to agree with others that's just some personal add on engraving, not from Omega, and you shouldn't be worry.
IIRC after 145022-69 they produced 145022-71 model. There is no 145022-70 model.

It is a 69 back. The 70 is engraved. I guess some original celebration mark nearly worn away.
I'm very happy and wearing it now!

Put a protective back sticker so it prevent more wear on the back

I will. Good tip. I love the wear and tear of it. And it feels good on the wrist. It's odd. I had the 30th anniversary model and never took to it. This one feels special. Ah the magic Omega moment!

Can anyone let me know what buckle this would have had originally? Next step...
