The Rolex Datejust has been a staple, an icon, a legend for almost 80 years, and for good reason - the design is just pure class! And this particular one, from 1970 with a beautiful and rare no lume dial, complete with its original Rolex jubilee bracelet is incredible!

    REFERENCE: 1601

    SERIAL: 2,38X,XXX

    YEAR: 1970

DIAL: About as nice as they come for a watch this age, that silver sunburst pops beautifully! And none of the lume degradation you see in the standard lumed iteration - just clean pie pan perfection!

CRYSTAL: Plexi is in fantastic shape, with very light wear that can only be seen at certain angles.

CASE: The 36mm case is in nice shape, again given the age. Wear throughout, as expected, most noticeable on the smooth sides. Looks to have been polished in the past but the brushing on the lugs is still present. The solid white gold bezel is crisp and beautiful as well!

MOVEMENT: The Rolex automatic is working perfectly, winding and setting as it should. Service history unknown but in my experience keeping time within 14 seconds a day.

BRACELET: Rolex jubilee with what I believe to be the original end links and clasp, as noted by the 1970 stamp. The solid link bracelet was likely replaced at some point as those came in a few years later. Really nice condition, light scratches/rubs on the clasp, as expected, but presents beautifully, including that SWEET oversized crown on the clasp! Also has below average stretch for it’s age, and the fact that it’s a large jubilee, able to fit up to nearly an 8 inch wrist.
