Hi, We just acquired a 1969 14K Omega womens watch. Really great condition. Hardly any wear or scratches anyplace including the crystal. Serial # is 29166480 and it's stamped on the works under where the winding mechanism is. Under the Omega logo to the right of that is the # 650. What's throwing me is on the inside of the back cover are the numbers EE884762891. What is this and should it be the same as the serial #? Any help would greatly appreciated! Have a great day!!

No, during the 60’s/70’s etc the serial wasn’t marked o the case like it is now so nothing to worry about

I have one similar to that.

These were from the Saffette line. The crystals were faceted like a synthetic sapphire.

The cases were made locally (In the US) to avoid import tariffs.

When I first joined OF I asked if there was any sort of cross reference to these numbers. Ross was the one who I think made my case. The EE may refer to 14K gold. The casing numbers do not relate to the Omega charts, although the designs can be seen in the reference books. There was a watch similar to mine in the Museum.

I got mine for the scrap price of gold sometime in the mid 1990s.

These watches are not too desirable. Which I think is a shame. I think they are quite underrated.

The small movements are hard to work on and sometimes sold as job lots since many of these cases have been scrapped.

Stick around. Your photography style is interesting. There is a whole subsection here on photography.

Looks like the photos were taken by satellite. 😁

Anyway, I'm guessing it's a nationally cased watch, so no useful serial or reference number inside the case-back.
