Hi fellow Omega fans,

I am in the lucky position that I have inherited a beautiful Omega Constellation with red dial, Gold bracelet, and in original box w papers.

Thing is, I know nothing about watches, having worn Seikos and casios (sacrilegious around these parts, I’m sure) my whole life.

I’d like to know more about this watch, and this place feels like the right place.

So if anyone can give any general info on this watch, specifically the dial and bracelet (which I’m not sure is original?), I would be grateful!

Either way it’s a beautiful watch, and I’m keeping it!

welcome @constellationguy

quite the first post.

we like pictures here - including boxes and papers.

The papers will have a lot of the info you are looking for - but it looks like you have an 18k C case constellation with a red fumé dial.
Because of the bezel, most likely a 168.017.

these are genuine coloured Omega dials and came in a (small) range of colours.

your bracelet doesn't look correct as these references famously had a particular 'brick' bracelet

If you like c cases then there is an entire thread dedicated to them.

here is a pic of a later C case (with knurled bezel) with a darker fumé dial, from AJTT

Thanks for help and info! I think the plan with this watch is to get a leather strap for it for everyday wear without fear of being mugged😂

Should I take it to be serviced? Looks like it’s working just fine, and the gentleman from whom I inherited it will have taken it to be serviced annually. May, however, not have been worn much over the last few years..
