Needing to cover incoming purchases, it's with regret that I must let this Grand Seiko go. I purchased it a few months ago and had it serviced to wear, proof of which will accompany the sale. It has been keeping very good time. The reference 6246-9001 was produced for 2 years, 1966 and 1967. This is the later model with the GS logo medallion replacing the earlier lion medallion seen on on the 1966 version. The bezelless stainless steel case is 36.4mm with uniquely designed, sweeping, 19mm lugs that are nearly as sharp as the day they were made. There are minor scratches from 50 plus years of wear. The 6246 is the Day-Date version of the 62GS, Grand Seiko's first automatics. The silver sunburst dial is stunning and nearly spotless, as are the hands.
