    Hello,

First time poster, long time reader.

Came across this on a random search... listed for sale from Quality Vintage Timepieces in Toronto (photos borrowed from their website).

I'm so very new to exploring vintages pieces, but I must say, I'm intrigued/considering here.

A few details: recently serviced Omega caliber 601,Case model 135.012, dated to 1966 from the serial.

From my research and a few other insights I've received, the movement and case look appropriate (of the Geneve, not seamaster variety). However, I've never seen a dial like this - have you? Does it make sense here?

Other thoughts/opinions from you seasoned vintage Omega collectors/wearers welcome.

    Thank you.

Sorry but your pictures are too small and I can not clearly analyze as you do not have an avatar.

I think you've never seen one of these dials because it's probably really bad/redialed badly. Not sure about the hands either.

It is possible that the dial would have had some markers that used to be glued but are gone.

Has 2 Ts but only the hands look like they could have tritium. Nothing on the dial. Probably was on the markers that are now missing.
Some types of moss can glow in the dark though. But I think that would be marked T SWISS MADE M. ::rimshot::

I kinda like the mossy dial. The Omega database says it is a Geneve. Put together at some point in it's life. Never seen this dial from Omega. Maybe an older re-paint? Great watch to wear every day but not much interest from a collector's point of view. Nice and clean inside. If the seller is asking a premium, it's not worth it.

"I kinda like the mossy dial." This is pretty much where I'm at too, or at least what appealed to me first. Unfortunately I think there is a bit of a premium being asked here (relative to my budget), so with uncertainty on the dial and hands, its kinda raining on my initial excitement parade.

If you are going to pay a premium, it's always best to vet it first on this site. Clean and original has value.

I would say the dial is original. Just not in great condition. Missing luminous on a number of markers.

Year of issue using the caliber 6xx movement similar to other models from the same time period

Don't list price, so can't say if good or bad deal

The dial is redone to look like a military style in the hopes of tricking a n00b into paying through the nose for it. It's not hard at all to make lume look aged - you can mix things with it to make it beige / brown, and you can then bake the dial to give it the appearance of more age.

Found this other with date. Design as mentioned is around the time Omega was making a number of similar styled models

    Asking price way too high

The hands are nice, movement looks clean, dial I'm pretty certain is original but has spent a couple decades on Dagobah.

Price is 3x the fair price given condition of the dial and more the 2x the price if it were just average.
