I am selling my personal all original 1966 premoon speedmaster in hopes of securing another grail of mine soon. 2023 has been a busy year for me in a good way but that also means unloading a lot that I have. I am sure the next owner of this special piece will be very happy.

Warning: Pic heavy!! I never filter or alter any photos. This is the true condition of the watch.

I fell in love with premoon speedmasters not because of the history (they went to the moon!) but the caseback. It is very simple with the “speedmaster” and a hippocampus. They are laser etched. Very vintage-y. The current speedmaster lines have busy engraved casebacks, which is fine. Lol.

The dial is a stepped dial and has the applied logo. It’s a classic iconic look. Most speedy dials are flat now. The tritium on the dial and hands are perfect. They are well intact. Slightly aged to a lemon yellow. Look at the center of the hands, the white paint is untouched. Most centers are scratched and the metal is exposed.

The case is like no other speedmaster. It is the first asymmetrical speedy case. The 1966 speedy had HF and CB case manufacturers.
This one is a CB case. You can easily tell by the straight facets on the lugs. They are strong and pronounced on this example. No other speedmaster has this characteristic.
I would argue that this watch is unpolished. You can see the original brushing on the sides. Most 66CBs are so polished away that you can barely see the straight facets or stain brushes or the hippocampus on the caseback. There is a tiny chip on the bottom right lug that I tried my best to capture on camera. It is very minor. Pretty good shape for an almost 60 year old watch.

The bezel has the DON “dot over 90.” A very neat touch. Great to have on a speedy. The little details are big. It is almost perfect on this watch! Super crisp. Easy to read.

The crystal is original. Check out the macro shots. The logo is in the center. My watchmaker did a great job cleaning and buffing any scratches. The dial is very clear to see!

The crown and pushers are original. Often times you will see service pushers on something as old as this.
Fun thing about the 66 speedy is that the pushers are short and stubby like mushrooms. Fat necks. Service ones are skinny. Again, little details!

The movement is the legendary Omega caliber 321. It has a dust cover over it to protect it from ummm dust! The watch was SERVICED by a CW21 watchmaker and comes with 2 years warranty.

Serviced May 19th, 2023

I am asking $12k USD. The watch is located with me in Sacramento, CA. I do prefer a continental US sale offering free USPS overnight shipping but am open to international with shipping to be discussed.

I am very active on here and instagram under the same username @omegawatchlover. I’m a private collector of vintage Omega and Rolex. Collecting since 2017. Plenty of references.

I am open to trades at the moment. Vintage Omega and vintage/modern Rolex. Thank you for the space again!

PS. I learned a lot about premoons and used information from speedmaster101.com. You can read more there. You will see the pricing chart valuing this between $10,000-$15,000 which good to very good.

Dial is a less seen close T, which gives this watch more panache, should any potential buyer be interested in the more rare version of a thing.

BIG BUMP Speedy is back from service by a CW21 watchmaker trusted by Rolex and Omega! Chronograph working great! Original crystal polished and showing the amazing dial and hands very clearly! Yellow tritium FTW. All original.
