Hello I have a question, and I am hope some one can help with info. I have a 1966 Benrus military wrist watch, it keeps good time, but when you pull the stem to set the time, it comes completely off. I know the watch is a front load so the stem has to come out for removing the swiss movement. I do not think the watch stem should come out for normal use, I know that it cost the govt a little over 28 dollars for these watches so it was not expensive. Is there some way this can be repaired. Thanks for any info. Also I went into the army in 1966 so I thought having a 1966 watch was pretty cool.

The split stem may be worn, allowing it to pop apart too easily. You would need to find replacement parts preferably both the movement portion and the crown portion of the stem. Parts for these might be difficult to find though...

    Cheers, Al
