My 1965 Speedmaster has a 7912 inscribed 1963 Bracelet. As the bracelet is older than the watch I would think this bracelet is Ok for my watch. My question is is this: Is my watch/bracelet combination less attractive than a 1965 Speedmaster watch with a 7912 1965 inscribed bracelet.

I would say that it's not a bad thing. In these years in Omega there was some "patchworks". A pic of the watch?

I think you will need 7912 1966 for speedy 65

Generally the bracelet year is around one or sometimes two years after the case reference year stamp. So is your Speedy stamped -65 inside or was it produced in 1965 according to an archive extract?

For the specialists to correctly analyze your Speedmaster Bracelet combination we need pics of both bracelet sides, and inscription of bracelet, watch reference number (is it a 105.003-64 produced in 1965 or a 105.003-65?) and movement number.....first 4 digits is fine. This is serious business.:)

Granted a poor question. The watch is a 105.033-65. If all the serial numbers match up correctly is a 1965 watch with a 1963 bracelet less valuable than a 1965 watch with a 1965 bracelet? Feel free to punch me in the gut if you still don't like the question.Thanks.

A thread I started recently might be relevant, just for anyone wondering what could (plausibly) be used on 105.003-65 ...Perhaps not conclusive, but I've also been wanting to bracelet-up with something historically accurate.

The 105.003-65 was produced from 1966 - 1969. As such, a 1035 bracelet is probably more correct for later issued and a 7912 dated 1965/1966 for the earlier production. A 1963 bracelet wouldn't have been OEM for a 105.003-65.

Actually it does. The much followed Speedmaster Bracelet chart is incorrect on this point. MWO states 7912 production is 1961-66 btw. I have a 7912 out to 3/66 I believe.

I can get a 7912 bracelet but it is dated 3/63. The inside caseback of my watch is 105.003-65 and the movement is 2644xxxx. So we have the right bracelet but the wrong date.

I restore vntage cars. An identical generator date stamped 1963 on a 1965 car it will be judged correct because the generator date stamp is earlier than the car. A generator date stamped 1967 would be incorrect because factories didn't have 1967 generators available to them in 1965. The factory would be able to dig up a 1963 generator from the shelf and install it in the 1965 car because it precedes 1965.

So can I use a 7912 3/63 without issue because it precedes 1965?

Imho, it's not inconceivable that a 63 bracelet was sold on a 65 watch. The buyer may have wanted a bracelet and this is what the store had on hand. It's probably not a common occurrence, but within the realm of possibility. What ends do the bracelet have?

Of slightly more concern is a 105.003-65 with 26m movement. Are you sure it's not 25?

    I checked MWO and 105.003-65 ran from 22.825xxx - 26.554xxx.
