Hi all,

I'll preface this by saying that I haven't seen this watch in person (yet ) but I'm nervous about the authenticity of the dial. It's listed as described above, i.e., a 1965 ref. 166.020. A few more pictures - sadly not great quality - below. Just putting it out there to see if anyone smarter than me had a view...

case looks like she's been polished once or four times but still looks good. really good.

these are terrific watches for both new and veteran collectors. IMHO opinion - as good as a Rolex Precision or Air King @ 20 to 25% the cost . Everything is relative and these are relatively great watches.

 

I agree with @citizenrich they aren't great photos.....

 

The asking price is EUR 1450, so I guess around USD 1600. I'm used to prices here in Europe being slightly higher than the US, but that seems steep to me. It's being sold by a vintage dealer rather than a private seller.

Still tempting to get myself an early Christmas present though...

I think that price is too high taking into account that the case has lost some edges due to the polishing.
Otherwise a very clean and nice design!

My advice is wait till the new year , prices will be more reasonable

 

The price does seem high, even for a dealer.

 

Can get more value for money if you can wait.

Price is just impossible and seller is making a fool out of himself.
Overall it is a legit watch, but this is one common watch that you can find on ebay. Nothing special about it imho

I think you can find similar for $800 to $1000 with a bit of patience and probably $1200 with less patience.
