    Hi,

there was an online watch auction on encheres champagne auctions today. This speedmaster was sold for USD 8.500,- (without 15 % buyers fee) which in my opinion is a rather good price for this watch.

Whats your opinion on the price? Not too bad in my opinion for this speedmaster.

As there were also some other interesting watches on the auction I wanted to know whether some of you already dealt with this auction house?

Nice watch, pushers and crown are not originals but it seems to be a good deal indeed.

I think the price is about right, not really a bargain.

If you take a 'good' price of 11,000 then take off for the dial losing some of its lume, the gamble that all of the marks are dust or on the crystal, not the dial then the service crown and pushers, you get to around 9000.

The price looks right and the watch looks good! If it were mine I'd start looking for other pushers and crown.

I wasn't bidding on the speedmaster as it is not in my price range for watches.

I came around this auction by searching for an other Omega watch. As I am not that firm with speedmaster models I wanted to know whether this was a fair price or a bargain. (just for getting a feeling on the price)

I got this one. I have not seen many -63 for sale....

Definitely in the market for correct pushers, and crown. Also, chrono hand has lost lume - what do members think would be the best way forward in this case? Hand replacement? Relume?

Nice catch  My vote would be leave the chrono hand, maybe try stabilize the minute/hour hands (i.e. ask your watchmaker) ... its original, from the first half of the 60's -> there is a charm about that, and in this case the colour is great and matches the dial. Naturally if originality is not your thing, then you will most likely feel the opposite, in which case 'relume'.

edit : by 'stabilize' i believe they can stop anymore lume falling out via magic on the underside of the hands (i.e. a finely crafted piece of tape or so).

    Congrats - nice one.

I am pretty sure that the biddings shown on my screen were in USD. Did you get it for CAD 8,500?

It's not done with tape, but with clear binder material applied to the back. This is the same liquid that the lume powder is mixed with when reluming hands.

Be interested in seeing closer shots of the damage to the case surrounding the pushers - not quite sure how that would happen...hopefully not a sign of serious tampering.
