    hello,

I am new to the forum. I recently inherited my grandfathers 1962 Omega cal. 268. I had the watch restored as it was in pretty rough shape. I would like your thoughts on the final product. I have included before and after pictures.

Everything is original except for the minute and hour hands. My grandfather had them replaced many years ago. A set of gold hands were put in, however i was told that the original hands were rose gold to match the markers and subsecond hand (perhaps they were not available in rose gold at the time). I have contacted Omega and Ottofrei for a set of hands and they unfortunately no longer carry them in rose gold. I was wondering if anyone can suggest another channel?

The hands will work. Just need to measure your hands (from center hole to tips) to make sure they're the same length

Should also check with seller on how they measure, but based on the number of items they're selling. Could be awhile before you hhear anything if at all.

Other choice is finding a watchmaker to remove and have them replated if a company does rose colored gold plating. Won't be a 100% match, but closer than yellow

After some research and the help of a forum member i was able to establish that my watch hands should be identical to the ones in this ended listing:

However, this makes my search even more difficult since i believe that these hands are quite rare.

    Who cares?

Watch looks nicer with the Dauphine hands than the baton. Gives it more style. Thats why I never liked later 60's models. Too plain with stick indexes and baton hands

I absolutely agree and thank you for your picture. May i ask if your watch has a "T" marked on the dial and lume dots on the markers? I was topd that my watch should have lume dots and lumed hands as well. What are your thoughts?

There are lume on the hour markers going with lumed hands as it should be but no T next to Swiss Made because it was too early for that.

Thank you for the clarification. Do you think that my markers should have lume dots in the indentations? Or perhaps this dial did not have lume? My case number is 14391-62

Not all dials have luminous. Usually non luminous hands meant none on the dial

Kind of hard to tell with your dial, but if there are little notches at the end. There would have been luminous. 12 index has one, but can't tell on the others
