All, First post so please forgive any faux pas on this post. Anyway, my father passed along my grandfather's Omega that my grandfather won after bowling a 300 game on 1/6/1963. It has the 570 movement as seen in the attached photos and the serial number dates it to 1962. The watch had been sitting in my father's safe deposit box for around 25 years. My grandfather wore the watch for a number of years as evidenced by some of the wear/tear visible on the case, but it still ran. I recently had the watch serviced, which included replacing the crystal and the original expandable bracelet with a leather strap. All other components are original and untouched. I also did some digging and found the attached news article tied back to the date my grandfather bowled his 300 game. Definitely neat to know the history behind the watch. I love seeing others' stories and thought some folks might like this. RJ
Very cool story that's even documented! If I even see this watch up for sale, I'll hunt you down and kill you.
This is a great first post, good history, nice watch.... . Could you please post another photo with the AMF logo more visible?
That's pretty cool history there - don't EVER let this one get away with those family ties, and don't let Omega restore it and replace original hands and dial, etc.
All, I recently found a picture of my grandfather wearing this watch in 1969, bout six years after he won it, when he was leading the ABC doubles. Thought it was pretty neat. -Ryan
