Up for sale is a rare 1962 Longines Flagship with an original black gilt dial. The 35.5mm 104 ref case is noticeably larger than its 34mm 101/103 reference siblings. This is also one of the models used to guide the design of the 2020 Flagship Heritage reissue. See below for more info, and don’t hesitate to reach out with questions.

Dial: The original, non-refinished black gilt dial is in nice condition with a light speckling of gold colored patina. Features yellow gold markers and hands. The minute hand has a very slight dent in it (difficult to see but wanted to note it nonetheless). The second hand is original, despite the odd length (that’s just how these came new..).

Case: The original 35.5mm 104 ref steel case has been lightly polished but the bevels on the lugs and the ship engraving on the caseback remain in nice condition. As mentioned above, this case wears much larger than most other Flagships from the era that were 34mm. I put a caseback sticker on the back to protect the ship engraving (easily removed).

Crown: The crown is signed but was replaced at some point with one period correct and similar to the original.

Crystal: Crystal is free of scratches (unknown if original or replacement).

Movement: The original 30LS movement runs, winds, and sets well, but service history is unknown.

Strap: Sold on the black leather strap pictured.

Comes with a physical Longines extract from the archives that indicates the watch was sold in November 1962 to Sweden/Norway.

Price is $1350 shipped globally. Bank transfer/Wise (or similar) for payment. OF seller reviews are here. Returns are accepted if the watch is grossly misrepresented. Watch is located in the USA.

Lovely design - really love those lugs and indices and a nice condition case but sadly I am looking for this model with a white/cream dial and have been for a while.
