Very first post here, my apologies if this should be somewhere else. Mods, please feel free to move to the appropriate forum/sub-forum if this is the case.

I just bought this on eBay. I have a watch-crazy buddy who has been giving me continual counsel, I send him the eBay link and he tells me his thoughts. It's been very fun and very rewarding! After months of looking for something that I really loved, I found this one. I did a bit of research, the serial number, cal, etc. seem to match up with the specs. Full disclosure, I'm not opposed to having a repainted dial.

Just wanted your thoughts on this watch! Anything is appreciated. I'm glad to join, seems like a great place!

The seller seems very reputable with a 100% rating (loulaura001)

I'm not best placed to comment on the originality of the watch but it is a gorgeous watch. So simple and elegant.

    They're quite small though, I think. 34mm?

It really is. I'm very much a watch novice, I'm sure I could have made a better decision, but it was exactly what I was looking for. Simple, sleek, clean, and of course, 1960s Omega.

I believe it's 34.5mm even though the description says 35mm. It is indeed small, but I really like that size, I think 34-35mm really gives a watch some presence, ironically enough! haha

Dial was refinished and the movement looks tired. Don't buy.

    Too late:

Well, you certainly got a repainted dial..... and as Hoi noted above, a very worn movement to boot.

Haha, well lesson learned, I guess it was a waste and a bad purchase. I still like the watch, it runs well and was recently serviced, according to the seller. I also didn't think the movement was so bad compared to others I saw.

I see, that movement is undoubtedly nicer! Beautiful watch right there. I'll just have to be satisfied with mine for now, until my next Omega purchase. :) which will be the Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch. I can't wait.

Of course you will see more original/cleaner examples here that have been hunted down by the dedicated and knowledgeable collectors. However, don't just dismiss yours as "a waste and a bad purchase" and shove it away in a sock drawer.

Personally, I think it's a pretty nice looking watch and if you like the way it looks and you enjoy wearing it, then do so in good health. That's what watches are for ;)
