    Hello Fellow Forum Members,

Attached are photos of a late 1960's Heuer Carrera Chronograph. The watch was purchased from the original owner from a Socal Speed Shop in the late 60's. A receipt was included but no reference number. Instruction manual and catalog was included no box no papers. I bought the watch in 96. Restored by Baume Swiss in SF around 98. New acrylic and perforated strap. Gave this to a friend in 99. He still has it. Looking for the reference number. Thank you in advance.

    Could be 3647D 1964 Deci 45?

You will find the reference between the lugs at 12 o'clock and the serial between the lugs at 6. Both should be readable even with the strap attached unless the case has been over-polished.

It’s a 3647D for sure. 45min counter points to valjoux 92 (3647), whereas the 7753 had the val 7730 with 30min counter sub.

This is mine. Only difference is the early Swiss only dial:

It is indeed a 3647D, and a nice one at that

Reference numbers weren't added to the cases until 1969 or so, and the 3647s predate that practice. So this one would just have the serial between the lugs at 6

Ahhh. So that is why I could get a clear photo of the serial on my 3647S (probably 1967 or 8) I failed to get one of the reference despite a lot of trying. My 7753NS (late 1969 production) has both.
