Hi All, I'm new here and am looking for some help if you would be so kind 馃榾

I inherited this lovely timepiece which is in working order but missing its crown. Can anyone point me in the direction of where I can get this done competitively or if I can order a crown (genuine or pattern) and do this myself?

If I can easily order can anyone help me identify which crown one I need and where to get it from?

It also probably needs a new glass front but don't think I want to attempt that!

Thanks All

I would leave it to a watchmaker for the work as you should probably get the watch serviced as well while you鈥檙e at it. You can share your roughly where you live and members will recommend a watchmaker as well.

Welcome to the Forum!

A crown and some Polywatch would have that watch looking good.

It will require a watchmaker to make that watch perform well.

For crystals Polywatch is your friend.

Thanks for the reply. I am in Ashford, Kent. There is a chap nr maidstone (vintage watch repairs) but i was hoping for something a little closer. Maybe nr canterbury/folkstone or Dover? I do commute to London but am conscious of London pricing...

The Royal Mail is very reliable and will do a next day signed for, special delivery, insured for 拢500 for 拢6.85. For a higher value insurance you pay a little more. Quite a few repairers work from home and don鈥檛 have premises and jewellers who accept vintage watches for repair often post them to the same repairers.

I would leave that to a watchmaker, the risk of damage is not worth it.
