Hello everyone,

I am a long-time admirer of the brand but a first-time poster here. I’m currently researching a family heirloom that has recently come into my possession: a mid-1960s 18k solid gold Seamaster.

The watch features an integrated-look 18k mesh bracelet with a very clear hallmark on the clasp: 361 VI (alongside the 750 purity mark). My initial research suggests the "VI" signifies Vicenza, Italy, but I am looking for confirmation on the specific workshop or if Omega had a known relationship with this maker for Italian-market exports.

A few interesting notes:

  • Caseback: It is a high-polish, solid 18k gold back with no Hippocampus logo or exterior markings.
  • Dial: A beautiful textured "linen" finish with gold indices.
  • Provenance: The clasp has a "Love Roberta" engraving from the original owner.

I haven't opened the caseback yet as I want to avoid marking the gold, so I don't have the reference number or movement caliber just yet. I’m curious if this configuration (plain caseback and Italian-made bracelet) was a standard regional offering for the Italian luxury market.

Any insights on the this would be greatly appreciated!
