I'm looking at buying a vintage omega and deciding between an omega seamaster and omega constellation (see my previous thread). The seamaster is a 14k 550 caliber from 1960. Any opinions on whether the black dial is original?
    Thanks for the help. 2127dial1.jpg 2127crown.jpg 2127cb.jpg 2127move.jpg

Redial - just a good one. The SWISS MADE shouldn't be so far apart on that dial.

I wouldn't dismiss it so quickly. Omega used many suppliers and font styles. They are generally the same, but there are always variations.

What is the case reference? It is found in the inside of the caseback.

When you get this, do a Google search for watches with same reference. Look at the dial to see if fonts match, "Swiss Made" matches, etc.

If it's different, then you can suspect a redial.

While you are inspecting the inside of the case back, look for signs of wear. If you look at the rotor, you will see at least 2 places where its been rubbing on the case back. Make sure this has been addressed before buying, or use this tomdrive the price down and then get it sorted.

Thanks all. I saw this one in person and wasn't that excited about it. I ended up going with the 14902 constellation I posted about in a different thread.

    Hello,
I have the 1960 official catalog. 84 pages.
    I don't see that model.
