My collection has recently flown past the 20 mark, and it is time to consolidate my collection to my favourite pieces as unfortunately this lockdown has not been favourable to my bank balance (and my buying habits)...

I am therefore going to list some watches over the next couple of days. One each day.

A huge percentage of my collection is made up of early Omega Geneve watches because they are elegant pieces with quality movements. I’ve never understood the over the top passion for Seamasters but Geneves on the other hand have an air of fineness and symbolise what I consider perfection in design, perfectly balancing the beauty of simple aesthetics with functional engineering.

With 4 steel ones currently in my collection I have decided to sell one my one and only Omega 14724.

Dial: From the elegant cursive font used for “geneve” to the applied omega logo, and beautiful two tone dial with white inner section, there was no expense spared when they made this line of watches. The contrast between the steel indices with onyx inserts and the light dial really make them twinkle in the natural daylight - this dial colour combination is my favourite of all the geneves, but as this is my second like it I figured I can let this one go... it’s in good condition, clearly with a few minor scratches but nothing that detracts from the enjoyment of this piece. It is not perfect by any means, but It is really a delight to look down at and that’s what made me fall in love with this example.

Movement: Quite unusual to see the hand wound centre seconds models, usually I am used to seeing plenty of 14702/3 models but not the 14724. This one dates to 1960 and has a calibre 610. I do not know the service history and I haven’t checked for accuracy but it has always worked very well for me. As usual I would always recommend a service but I have seen no suggestions of anything that could indicate any issues whilst wearing.

Case: The case is stainless steel and in good condition, I believe it has been polished at some point through its life, it is therefore not super sharp, but nonetheless still retains the charm and character of this model.

Feedback: @JohnSteed bought from before no problems :)
@oliverrees sold on eBay and amazon marketplace

Thank you omega forums for the platform to sell, I hope someone likes the watch it’s a fantastic piece that is very similar to the one that got me into the hobby 4 years ago.

Edit: I always think a video helps show off a watch in its best light so I took this video:
