1960 Omega Dress watch case help needed

Hello, all I am a newbie to the forum.

one of my most prized possessions is an Omega dress watch, caliber 610 in a 132.016 18k gold case. Here is my problem. The case is accessed through the top, with a crystal ring that snaps into the lower case. The case will no longer snap shut. My jeweler sent it to Omega. They told him it would have to be sent to Switzerland to be fixed and this would cost an exorbitant amount, perhaps as high as $2000. This is obviously not an option. The case is squeaky clean (although a previous jeweler had tried to super glue it shut. This has been thoroughly and carefully cleaned.) there is no obvious damage. Any ideas? Is the case a goner or can it be fixed? I look forward to your responses.

Where are you located what country? I would think a specialist vintage watch repair should sort this at reasonable cost?
To help you better photos of the watch would assist

Being gold and 18kt. Could be enough wear that the case doesn't grip the bezel enough to hold it in place

On steel cases. I would put a small burr on the outside case lip which holds the bezel to see if that works. Also may have added a lip to the bezel

Here's my little setup. Board to hold the case and a burnished to place a lip on the case. Work softer on gold cases

Might also help to place a small lip on the inside edge of bezel if still not enough grip
