Hi all, I just recently acquired a Omega 196.0015 Constellation Megaquartz from my grandfather. I was wondering, since it has a sports watch kind of feel from the 70s, if it had any water resistance.

Almost certainly not, out of the factory I suspect it came with something like 30m worth of water resistance. But at this point the rubber in the seals would have dried, and possible there may be some degradation to the case itself.

If you are lucky you may be able to get it serviced and water resistant again. However, I would not be too hopeful.

Great watches from the past but there's really no good reason to want to use it close to water, there are so many options out there for that ;-)

It's a collectable, look after it.

    No.

Get it serviced but I don’t recommend going swimming with a 50 year old watch mate.
