Hi, I'm new here but have learned a lot just perusing these threads. My father-in-law apparently bought three Omegas and never wore them. They were just tucked away in his closet. Now we are trying to handle his estate and figure out what he has. This one is the most interesting because I cannot find anything like it anywhere on the web. Even Omega's website doesn't show me this watch when I start selecting options. The photos of the inside were taken with my phone at the jewellers, so they are not the best quality. (It appears there are three different jewellers' marks scratched inside the case.) I tried my best on the others following the instructions pinned in this forum. So, to make sure everything is okay with this watch, I have been wearing it for a week and it appears to keep excellent time. We believe my father-in-law bought this used from a reputable Pennsylvania store because the watch was in a box from that store. My wife is trying to decide whether to sell it (three heirs to split among) or give it to a grandson as an heirloom. All comments appreciated. SN puts the date at 1959.

By the way, the last photo really shows the color of the gold best. The first pic makes it look like a flat bronze color, but it's shiny gold!

Reference L-6590 is a US market watch.

Very uncommon and valuable 14K gold bead of rice bracelet.

I thought watches for the US market only had "Swiss" written on the dial and not "Swiss Made." Was it not always the case?

Here is one more just showing me wearing it. Again I think the color looks better in real life than in these pics.

Sorry, you are misinformed, there is no hard rule regarding SWISS vs SWISS MADE on US Omegas, can be either even for the same reference.

Beautiful combination with the gold bracelet. The perfect family heirloom!
