Here is the rare chance to grab a Conquest with rail track dial in fantastic condition.

Longines Conquest 290 "Rail Track Dial"

    at a glance
    Conquest ref. 9022
    - serial no. 1128xxx dates back to ca. 1959
    - cal. 290
    - original dial with yellow gold markers and hands
    - gold capped / rolled gold case case (35,2 mm without crown)
    - signed original scalloped crown
    - gold medallion on caseback "Fish in Kelp" Longines Seal of Quality
    - vintage nos lizard strap

    the dial
The original dial of this Conquest is in very good condition without spotting or signs of age visible to the naked eye. Very crisp fonts. The turned rail track is very appealing and complements the linen brushed dial and the applied gold indices very nicely.
Dial and hands still hold the original lume which has aged to a nice warm brown.

Please note that this dial variant with the brushed "rail track" was only made during a short period of time in the late 1950ies.

    the case

The rolled gold case is in very good condition with sharp edges and facets and fat lugs. There are only superficial scratches. I think it is unpolished.
The caseback is near mint without tool marks etc still showing it's factory brushing. The gold medallion on the back "fish in kelp" still holds it's complete enamel, just perfect!

    the movement
Longines in-house caliber ref. 290 looks almost untouched without any tool marks. The watch winds and sets well and the movement is running strong, but there is no known service history and therewith it would benefit from a fresh clean and oil if you want to wear it regularly.

    the price
I am asking 975 EUR shipped (or the equivalent in USD) to me for this nice and iconic 1959 Conquest.

Bankwire is preferred, paypal please add 4%(payment to be done in Euro please in case ofpaypal). The watch and I are located in Germany.

I have references here on OF, on German watchforums and a lot of positive feedback on ebay.

Please have a look at the pictures and feel free to answer to this thread or PM me directly if you have any questions. No returns unless condition of thewatch is grossly misrepresented.

Thanks for looking!:) and also many thanks to OF for the possibility to offer!

Very nice! I believe this is a gold capped case, more desirable IMO.

I believe you're right, on both statements!

A very nice watch, Dennis would approve I'm sure.

Many thanks for your comments. The watch is OHPF for a fellow OF member :)
P.S: To be precise with the case material indeed it's gold capped. I checked for the definition of the different techniques and rolled gold is really not matching here.

Glad to hear it’s on hold, because it’s been very difficult to resist this one!!!::love::

P.S. with the correct crown too, these are hard to come by as they’ve often have been replaced.
