I have a dealer offering me this watch and I am trying to figure out what its worth and if I should just snatch it up. It appears to be 100% authentic but, I am no Conny expert.

I have no problem passing the deal onto someone else if it isn't for me but, in any event it is a very interesting piece with vintage Box and papers so I thought you guys would enjoy seeing pics regardless.. I appreciate all comments.[ IMG_7307.JPG IMG_7308.JPG IMG_7309.JPG IMG_7310.JPG IMG_7311.JPG IMG_7312.JPG IMG_7313.JPG IMG_7314.JPG IMG_7315.JPG

First port of call would be to establish if the Constellation is as it should be - everything else is just cream right?

You're going to want it opened up to see the movement, and check that the movement serial number actually goes with the certificate... otherwise your paying premium for paperwork that's essentially worthless.

Whilst it's open, you can grab the reference number... I've had a quick look for Constellation Calendars on Google image search... can't find one exactly like this, although that doesn't mean that it doesn't exist.

I agree with your assessment and before buying I would do just that. However, I am going under the assumption that everything is correct, I still cannot find anything like this as a reference for an offer or value. I have no idea what its worth..

Would you be willing to share what he/she/they are asking for it?

Is it solid gold (9ct/14ct/18ct/24ct)? Capped? Plated?

You must not do business with a lot of dealers :)
They are asking me to make an offer and they will not give me a price.
This is an old negotiation tactic to try and establish value and a baseline.
No matter what I offer they will counter with a higher number...

I've done my research and I do not want this watch. I have determined it is worth between 2000-3000 USD

Tyran: Thanks for the time spent researching it. I thought it might be worth much more than it is, but sadly it isn't :(

The dial looks ok, but the condition cannot be judged from those pictures - you'll need much, much better photos than those to be able to come up with a decent evaluation.

It -could- be a full set, but from what I can see the box doesn't match the watch, so it may be the same with the papers.

The case looks to be in good nick, but with those pictures a lot of issues could be hidden.

No problem - I have a feeling that I've seen this watch/set before... I think it was on eBay October/November last year... the papers didn't match the movement, as @ConElPueblo said, the box didn't match the watch or the papers... and the dealer selling at the time was asking something crazy, and making claims that anyone who questioned him was an arsehole.

Tread careful chap. And carry a big stick. :D

That was the consensus then - just that the stuff that was being sold with it, didn't originally come with that watch. ;)

when did they stop doing snap-backs?
    59 seems a bit late
nice case -looks like original crown
    but tired dial IMHO
    very nasty GP stretchy bracelet
nice but not a premium 18k Connie
