Hi!!

Thanks for accepting me in the forum! I need some advice on a 1957 Omega Pie-Pan. I am thinking about buying this watch (photos attached), but I have some doubts about it... The dial seems almost too new, do you guys think it is repainted? Also, through the photos the seller sent me, is it possible to confirm its authenticity? I also think it is a gold platted, instead of a solid gold. Do you guys know the market value of one of these? Any help is much appreciated.

Many regards!

You're absolutely right - it has been redialed at some point and it is a gold capped model.

Its a redial, value to a collector is very little, market value on ebay to the unwary, dunno maybe $750-1000? That crown is more normally seen on a Seamaster and is likely wrong but that is academic, the dial kills it.

And I will just add that IMO, the dial is very bad.

Not that it matters anymore since the dial is a deal-breaker already, but it seems that the top left lug is about half the size of the top right one? Don’t know if it’s the picture (although it doesn’t seem to be at much of an angle) but there might be more “off” than just the dial. I’d stay away from it.
