1954 Rolex brevet ?

Hello, when I was at the shop yesterday picking up an omega the gentleman showed me this Rolex which he says is a 1954 brevet. Listed at 4,000 said he would go to 3,000. I’m not in a big rush to get a Rolex but the guy was telling me he was very happy as he recently sold a Cellini online for a good profit. Well I have a midsize Cellini I’d love to get rid of. If this watch is what he says I would attemp to trade my Cellini and some cash for it. I need to do more investigation but it’s just a possibility. can you tell me anymore about this.

Dial looks horrible. A 60+ year old watch is not going to have a bright white dial.

Run away.

Yeah I guess the T and E kind of give it away they don’t look right. Just want to confirm my suspicion thanks. The dial itself is not bright white. But the t,e and s def look suspect. It’s a shame it’s a nice watch. He had a few others I didn’t take pics yet but I would like to find a place to make a deal with my Cellini

I have three cats and I gave each one a dial to work on so I know I don’t know you well but I think you are lying. All my cars sniffed the dial and walked off thinking why are humans so hung up on time. In my studies I find cats completely uninterested in time pieces as they will let you know what time dinner is and they take care of things after that. Nice try though.

Brevet? The word means PATENT. Doesn’t say a thing about the watch. Be prepared to mortgage your home if it needs work. Probably the only people that might have parts for this would be Rolex. And they won’t look at it. Too much to pay for a paper weight.
