·1953 Rolex Oyster Perpetual ref. 6085
Up for sale is a delightful Rolex Oyster Perpetual reference 6085 from 1953, serial 766,XXX, with tropical dial patina.
Dial
Aged dial with gold arrow indexes in average condition with even oxidation/radium patina throughout to become a tropical, parchment-like aesthetic. The indexes are brilliant, becoming almost illuminated in various lighting.
Hands
Golden hour/minute hands are sharp but exhibit oxidation/radium patina. Blued sweep hand has aged to a dark black.
Case
34mm case with 43mm lug to lug. 19mm lug width. Average condition with signs of wear and age. Some pitting on the serial number side between lugs. Freshly cleaned but not polished or rebrushed. Two obvious file marks from a previous “repair” on the underside of the lugs were laser welded and refinished. New case tube installed and original lead case back gasket left in place. Case back screws down tight and smooth. SUPER OYSTER Crown is in good condition.
NOT WATER RESISTANT.

Crystal
Acrylic in good condition.
Movement
Rolex 645 perpetual freshly cleaned, lubricated, and adjusted. Keeping good time, especially for its age. Service included new main spring and stem.
Bracelet
Elastic Riveted Rolex Oyster bracelet reference 6635 with date code 1/55 and 57 end links. Fully cleaned (no crud inside the links) but not polished or rebrushed. Bracelet is in average condition and does exhibit previous repairs. Springs have all been replaced.
