Dear OF,

In case you didn't know, Eterna is one of the 'big three'!

And today you can obtain a great example from 1953. This is an uncommon reference of which I've seen only a handful around and two of those once belonged to @Tony C.; this specific example, and a gold capped one he listed here on OF recently.

The most striking aspect of this watch to me is the pearlescent shine of the dial, which is showcased very well in the video below. Furthermore, the hour markers are incredibly shiny and the way they catch the light resembles the quality in finishing of my 15 year younger Grand Seiko. This great package is topped off with the classic 1950s Eterna red tipped seconds hand.

In harsh sunlight and macro magnification, you can tell the pearlescence is no illusion.

The high grade in-house chronometer movement make for very accurate wearing, even today. The watch was serviced approx. 1,5 years ago. The case has unique lugs and the original hidden crown. The hands show corrosion but that is overstated in these pictures; I highly recommend you watch the video.

Very, very nice watch. Eventhough I think I know the answer - what size is it? My wild guess is 34mm - maybe 34,5mm

Thanks Bille! Yes, I would say 34mm in diameter.

Tons of love for this Eterna so far, but no definitive biters; up she goes.

Beautiful watch, and one that interests me personally. Sorry, just to clarify this one point. Is this based on a measurement? Maybe it's a language issue, but the phrase "I would say" implies that you are guessing, which makes me a little uncomfortable. IMO, in a sales listing, there should be facts, or "I don't know." I realize that you cannot reply until tomorrow, but you can edit your prior response.
