    Hello everyone!

I think this is an interesting example of a gold-capped 2627 with honeycomb dial.
The case seems to be in good condition and the crown looks original.
Is the dial just dirty with the black marks in the honeycomb dimples?

Unfortunately the bezel is missing - how much of a problem is that? i.e would it be difficult/expensive to find a replacement?
Is it worth getting this one considering its condition and interest?
The asking is $500 but I could probably offer $400-450.
What is holding me back is the missing bezel!!

Plenty of this model out there wait till you see a complete piece even if you pay a little more
Here’s my box and papers example

    Thanks.
Wow what an amazing set that is!
How did you preserve it in such great condition after so long? Looks like it was purchased yesterday:)

the watch still has value and surely the seller is aware of the missing bezel. for $200 it would be hard to say no and at that price I would snap it up and just sit on it since sooner or later a complete one will pop up on the cheap with a bad movement and dial.

    Interesting view thanks.
Amazing that the seller is advertising it has having a bezel and I had to point it out!
The buy it now price is $500 and it has the option to make an offer. What would you say is the highest offer I should make if I was to take the path of buying and getting a bezel later? $200 may be a push though!

well for me if more than $200 then like the previous member said it's probably best to wait and spend a bit more for a nicer example, especially if the seller is ignoring the fact the bezel is missing...could be other problems with the watch he is skipping over as well.

    Thanks for your eagle eye!

I was focusing on the no bezel issue and didn't pay enough attention to the dial. The 'm' in Omega and Automatic dont look right do they?

I have a genetic condition that keeps me from seeing missing bezels , so congrats for picking up on that. Because of my condition, all I can see is the redial. The “calendar” looks particularly crappy, and the rest isn’t far behind. Not terrible from a distance, but once you see it, it can never be unseen ;)

Seeing that you have the ''eye for the redial'' do you mind checking this dial too? This one I bought from the same seller:unsure:
I have shown it before and no-one said re-dial but better to make sure. I think it is okay but you never know!

There’s some bubbling on the dial, but it looks like a nice honest piece to me. Wait for others to chime in though.

There IS a bezel of sorts on it, see the gold ring? My guess is that the original bezel was lost and this ring added instead.

In the 90s I had a gold bezel replaced on a 2627. I had to send it to Omega to have it installed, they would not sell it to me.

So I would call customer service and ask if they will replace it.

I don't think it is a redial, but could be wrong. Would like to see better photos to make sure that it isn't just crystal scratches, spots on the dial and the uneven surface making it look weird.

Sending it to Omega sounds expensive right?
I would have to think more about whether it is worth it::screwloose::

Actually, it wasn't awful, because all they did was affix the bezel and nothing else. So whatever the gold value is....

If this were an incredibly rare and valuable watch with tremendous upside, then maybe I would take a flyer and hope to come across the right parts eventually. But for a piece like this, why bother? The dial is stained, the lugs are polished, and it's not a bargain.

Agree. Judging by the photos, the dial looks correct.
