Hi! I have for sale a Universal Geneve gold cap bumper with a crosshair dial. Serial number dates this guy somewhere in the 1952-1955 range. All logos seem to match that range. This watch has the 138ss caliber bumper movement that the Pola & Polerouters of the era had . The case measures a bit over 35mm (around 35.3mm to be precise) not including the crown. Case is in really good condition with crisp edges. It does exhibit a bit of wear to the plating by the lugs which is hard to capture in photos. Caseback is very legible and reference number states 40209-1. The dial features faceted indices and a crosshair. Hands show tarnish. The varnish on the bottom half of the dial seems to be degrading a bit (and a bit more by the 2 and 7 o'clock markers). The unsigned crown matches the color of the case. Timekeeping is OK but I highly recommend a service as history is unknown and I didn't test it for too long. I'm far from an expert on these watches so please PM me if I have made a mistake. Asking USD NOW $325 + shipping CONUS (rest of world at cost). Paypal friends and family (or add whatever Paypal charges these days), Chase Quickpay, or Venmo work. No returns unless grossly misrepresented and sold as/is. Willing to entertain trade for an Omega bumper. I think this is a good opportunity to own a larger UG at an affordable price point. An unflattering picture to try to capture the varnish thing... And a more flattering wristshot. Thanks for reading and thanks OF for the space! Came across this ad and thought the watch looked familiar! Not much more than it was originally priced
Hey it is the same! This is the 40209/1! (It also makes me think the unsigned crown may be original...) Great find! Thank you! Here is my Instagram-worthy photo (I'll save you the hashtags).
