Finally took my Grandfather's 1950s manual wind 283 Omega to the watchmaker.

It had an aftermarket cheap crown on it that had completely fused shut, and upon opening it up had some rust on the movement. Got the full treatment including it's first service in at least 30 years. Plastic got a polish revealing a beautiful patina on the dial.

I can't take my eyes off it, or take it off my wrist at the moment so thought I'd share it with the forum.

Well done, you now have a very nice watch to look after and a memory of your GF every time you put it on.

Just noticed your avatar photo. Assuming that's you in the photo, looks like you've already got someone in line for the next generation hand off of granddads watch. Go Giants!

It really came out well. Lovely patina. Love the whole look including the inscription.
