Hello guys,

Up for sale is another one of my beauties, this time a hand wind 1950s Baume & Mercier Chronograph which is at a very respectable 37.5mm.

Here is a beautiful watch in incredibly good condition.

The dial is a beautiful combination of silver and gold, with rose gold tone numerals and a steel hands. I believe the dial to be refinished, although I would say it has been done very attractively.

The case is 18k solid gold (hallmark in photos) and very sharp for its age. I do not believe it to have been polished which is remarkable and a rarity especially for a vintage watch of this era. It measured 37.5mm wide without crown, making it a very big watch for the 1950s era! 😀

The case reference as shown in the last photo is 627706 a rare case reference which is seldom seen. During my years collecting, I have only seen 4 online in addition to this one I own, ALL of them had refinished dials in my opinion, but none as attractive as this one that is for sale today.

The Landeron movement appears to be working well, and chronograph functions work as expected and reset correctly and has done so during my 3 year ownership. The crown winds very smoothly and I have not noticed any signs of any issues. That said I recommend a service for peace of mind, as I have not had it serviced during my possession, although this is up to your discretion. I have not measured it for accuracy.

*Please note the brown strap pictured will not be supplied with the watch, I will choose one ahead of sending and am happy to discuss this with the buyer (I have a collection of 20mm straps to choose from!).

I do not offer returns so please examine pictures and description carefully.

Caseback is a two part caseback, with the main protective metal alloy caseback, with a secondary 18k caseback that fits on top as often was the case on these older chronographs.

Price: £1250 net to me (Or offers are absolutely considered).

This very watch was up for sale for around 275,000 Yen several years ago, I presume this is where the person I bought it off bought it, which equates to £2000.

Please observe all photos and the description with care as I offer no returns.

Thank you omega forums for the platform to sell, I hope someone likes the watch it’s a fantastic piece that in my opinion is an example of a great vintage dress watch for your collection!

Over and out - Ollie
