Hi
This 9ct bracelet came with a 1956 Seamaster Automatic I have bought. I want to replace it with an original leather Omega strap to keep things ‘right’.
It is stamped ‘Chaincraft’ and hallmarked for Birmingham, also lettered for 1956.
Did Omega dealers put this bracelet on to new watches in the 50s at the customer’s request? It is quite thick.
What type of bracelet is it? That is, does the way the gold links are designed have a specific name, and also the clasp mechanism, which I haven’t seen before.
Many thanks

Not made by Omega- who knows when it was added doubt it was supplied by Omega dealer. One of the OF English lads will likely be able to give more insight. I quite like it.

When you see the price of Omega leather straps you will be in for a surprise, a modern Omega strap doesnt really make anything "right" you will be able to buy 4 nice non-Omega straps for the same price.

Agree with the prior poster, the prices of modern Omega straps & bracelets are simply astronomical, inflation or not!
