    A brief introduction would help.

Are you looking for a value on your watch or an approximate cost to repair it?

We are guessing without better info, that's why the above guidelines have been set.

The watch looks nice and if all that you say is true, it's worth hundreds of dollars.

Do I seem vague to you?
I'm afraid that's how we feel.

We'd love to get to know you and have you join us, this is a great collector's forum and your watch looks very promising.

The "let's guess the value" forum is located here: https://www.ebay.com/

No worries, we are glad to help but ask for some basic info to give intelligent answers.

Your Father's watch is quite beautiful to me, a sucker for that era.

A damaged movement and a 14k gold filled case would drop this watches value to $200.
A 14k solid gold case with a pristine serviced movement running beautifully might raise the value to $7-800 or more on a good auction day.

Your reference number G6525 may indicate it is not an Omega Swiss cased watch which hurts the collector value.

Omega has some limited information on your watch in the Vintage Database:

    https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/watch-omega-us-collection-omega-g-6525

The dial on yours looks nice and original. That is not the case with the majority of these you find on eBay and elsewhere.

Crown is not correct color. Should be gold-plated and signed. It is possible that plating is worn.

@UncleBuck is very close on the value.

    Hope this helps,

Where are you located? A forum member may be able to help you find a vintage watchmaker to service your watch.

Is that a hallmark or a scratch on the back of the lug?
It somewhat resembles the 1950 Birmingham hallmark but my vision is impaired (don't ask)!

This is a US made 14K case. There should be no hallmarks on the lugs.

    Here are your hallmarks:

There may have been other US manufacturers of cases for this reference, with hallmarks in different places. But US law requires the fineness to be spelled out in English.

No squirrels or Queen’s heads here.
