·Greetings OF,
For sale is my 1950s Ulysse Nardin. It’s a lovely watch, in very good/original overall condition for it’s age. I’ve seen quite a few UNs from this era come up for sale, but they are almost all re-dials or in poor condition. This watch is most decidedly NOT one of those.
It also bears the distinction of being the very first watch I purchased on this forum, from fellow member TonyC in December of 2019. With his permission, I’m including a link to that sale here: https://omegaforums.net/threads/fine-vintage-ulysse-nardin-automatic.106932/ Kinda bittersweet to see it go, but it’s been worn sparingly in the time I’ve owned it, so I’m offering it here today.
Dial/hands: Lovely and original printing with a silver soleil finish that has developed a very mild and even champagne patina. There are some imperfections, most notably some bits of lume that have flecked of the hands. This is barely noticeable to the naked eye. The hands have a bit of oxidation and lume loss as noted. The markers, including the applied anchor logo, appear to be flawless.
Movement: A real stunner that I’ve struggled to capture well in the photos. The watch was serviced in 2023. Running well and keeping great time. It is a little notch-y when setting.
Case: 35mm, clean, and to my knowledge, unpolished. Really nice attention to details here, with sharp chamfers that catch the light in pleasing ways, especially at sunset. The caseback engravings are another testament to the attention to details here.
I paid $850 for this watch in 2019 and that’s what I’d like for it today. Watch is sold head only, but I’m happy to include an inexpensive strap. Price includes insured shipping anywhere CONUS. A CONUS sale is preferred. No returns. References here: https://omegaforums.net/search/23839577/?q=mrbreen&o=date&c[title_only]=1
Thanks for looking and thanks to OF!
