Up for sale is a very nice 2577 reference Omega Seamaster with an original black gilt dial. The watch dates to 1949, the second year of the Seamaster. As you probably know, original black gilt dials are rather uncommon, and this one is in outstanding condition. Please see below for more info, and don’t hesitate to direct message me with questions.

Dial: Original black gilt dial is in very nice condition with only light patina. Features unique square markers at 3/6/9.

Case: The movement and dial originally came in a worn out 2577 ref gold capped case (gold worn through the lugs - it will be included in the sale). The current 34.5mm stainless steel 2577 reference case is in nice condition. It does appear to have been polished at some point but it’s difficult to notice with these cases because they didn’t have clear bevels.

Crown: I had a correct flat foot clover crown installed during service.

Crystal: Generic crystal is free of scratches.

Movement: Original 351 caliber bumper automatic movement was serviced by my watchmaker in August 2022 and comes with a 1yr service warranty. The movement has lost some plating, presumably from a harsh cleaning, but it’s running very well. Serial number dates the watch to 1949, the second year of the Seamaster.

Strap: Comes on the black DeBeer leather strap pictured. I also have a vintage Omega beads of rice bracelet available at extra cost.

Price is $1500 shipped globally. Bank transfer/Wise (or similar) for payment. OF seller reviews are here. Returns are accepted if the watch is grossly misrepresented. Watch is located in the USA.

I don't know why all these new members continually post crappy watches from eBay and Chrono24 and ask us to evaluate them. Just buy anything Phil is willing to let go from his amazing collection.

Let’s use some superlatives for the younger generations:

This watch is sick, Rad, dope, fly, hella-cool (oops, that’s from mine) and just plain awesome-sauce.

Yes, there are some very consistent heavy hitters here and my collection would NOT be the same without the likes of Phil and several others. Kudos!
