Hi, my name is Marcos and I´m from Argentina, thank you for accepting me in the forum.

I ask for your help as my brother in law has just received a vintage Omega watch as gift and we would like to identify which model it is.

The watch was sent for repair and according to the serial number (11 xxx xxx) it should be from around 1947-49 and caliber is 360 or 361.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Many Omegas of this vintage did not have a model such as "Seamaster" etc, this would be one of them.

If there are no numbers stamped inside the case back it was probably cased locally to avoid import duties on gold watches. This was quite typical for South American countries including Argentina.

Thank you so much for your reply, very interesting information. Now we know that it was bought once his grandfather moved to Argentina and it was not brought from Italy.
Against my advice... My brother in law decided to go for a "light" restoration. Dial will be cleaned and case will be lightly polished.
I'll post new pictures once he gets it back.
