I posted this on the What Did You Buy thread awhile back, and then a thread on the dial, but after getting it back from my watchmaker, I had to post a thread, as I am blown away by how the watch turned out.

Per Longines Archives, it is a ref. 5045 with a 12.68N that was delivered to Teixiera in Portugal on February 24, 1945. The lugs were not drilled, and at some point someone drilled out the lower lugs.

My watchmaker replaced the mainspring and a couple of other parts from a donor movement, cleaned and oiled, and added a new low profile mineral glass crystal...the transition was breathtaking.

Below are some before and after pics...needless to say, I blown away by the dial on the watch.

I have heard them referred to as that because of the 60 seconds and hash marks...if someone needed to time. I found that term interesting since it is a very distinct feature.

    Who know...

Ah, okay. The movement doesn't hack, does it? Could have been nice, with the 1/5 seconds mark for a 18,000 beats movement.
