·For the last 45 years I've been rising early on Sunday morns to visit the local car boot sale in Cambridge. In that time I've developed some contacts, and nuture them with ...money.
This was bought a couple of weeks ago from someone I'd never seen before showing that one still has to get up early even with friends and contacts.
During those 45 years I've accrued some gems: watches, pottery, lighters , camping equipment...
This cal 28 is amongst my best finds. I paid serious carboot cash (£100) but I think it is worth it
The detente spring needed replacing and I've put a new mainspring in while it was apart.
The face is wondrous. The case and bezel are gold plated. The back is stainless steel.
I'm slightly in awe of it's sheer elegance. I've only one other watch that holds a candle to it and it's not an Omega.
